Tiger Wall Mask – Handcrafted Papier-Mâché from Odisha
This wall mask depicts a tiger, a universal symbol of strength and protection. At 21 cm, it is one of the largest formats in the Sacred Faces collection, a presence that makes more of an impact on a wall than more compact masks like Jambaban or Jatayu.
The making of this mask follows a traditional handcrafted process passed down from generation to generation in the Odisha region: sculpting the volume, applying multiple layers of papier-mâché, air-drying, then entirely hand-coloring.
As with any handcrafted piece, slight variations in relief and color may appear from one mask to another.
