Fish Wall Decoration – Handcrafted Papier-Mâché
The only non-mythological figurative piece in the papier-mâché collection, this fish is inspired by Indian folk traditions rather than sacred figures like Ganesh or Jatayu. A lighter, more poetic motif, symbolizing movement and fluidity.
Crafted from papier-mâché using the technique practiced in the Odisha region, each piece is sculpted and then entirely hand-painted: no two pieces are strictly identical.
Features
- Material: Traditional papier-mâché
- Origin: Odisha, India
- Length: Approximately 25 cm
- Entirely handmade
- Unique piece, slight natural variations
Where to display it
- A bohemian living room

Its light and colorful design makes it a good contrasting piece against the more imposing masks in the collection.
