Red Bracelet, Coral Beads — Nuristan, Afghanistan
This model is recognized by its row of small, round coral beads, aligned on a wider band with a finely dotted texture. A different visual rhythm from single-stone models: here, it's the repetition of beads that creates the pattern.
An Arrangement of Aligned Beads
Unlike a single central stone, this bracelet emphasizes repetition: several round coral beads follow one another along the band, each individually set. The dotted texture of the surrounding metal adds relief and catches the light differently depending on the angle.
The bracelet has an inner diameter of approximately 6 cm. It can be slightly adjusted with gentle pressure to better fit the wrist. We recommend not applying excessive pressure to preserve the bracelet's shape and integrity.
A Work of Patience, Bead by Bead
Setting a single stone requires precision, but aligning an entire row of small beads without breaking the regularity of the pattern is a different exercise: each bead must find its exact place for the whole to maintain its rhythm. This is a unique skill of Nuristan artisans, passed down without plans or templates, by eye and hand.
The slight variations in spacing or alignment between two bracelets are the signature of this entirely manual work; no two pieces are rigorously identical.
About the Metal
Please note: this bracelet is not made of solid silver. It is crafted from German silver, an artisanal alloy that may oxidize slightly over time, particularly when in contact with skin, humidity, or cosmetics. This patina is part of the piece's charm; it is a sign of a living object, not a defect.
